The 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage represents a swansong for the brand’s iconic 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, boasting 690bhp
This is the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage, set to be the last-ever V12-powered example of the smallest model in the British brand’s range. Priced at £265,000, the new V12 Vantage is limited to 333 units and is completely sold out.
Its twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre engine produces a claimed 690bhp and 753Nm of torque, enough for a 200mph top speed and a 3.4-second 0-60mph sprint. Its eight-speed automatic transmission is specially calibrated for its new application; Aston Martin claims that shift refinement and usability are ‘beyond that seen on dual-clutch gearboxes’.
As per the original V12 Vantage first seen in 2008, the new model combines its huge performance with aggressive aerodynamics, a more focused chassis and weight-reduction measures. Aston claims some 204kg of downforce at top speed, generated courtesy of a large rear wing, rear diffuser and full-width front splitter. The 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage is 40mm wider than its V8-powered counterpart in order to accommodate a wider track.
The front grille is 25 per cent larger to improve cooling in conjunction with a large horseshoe vent on the bonnet. The car’s revised bodywork also includes a carbon fibre bumper, bonnet, front wings and side sills, along with a composite rear bumper and bootlid. Even the exhaust is lightened, created from 1mm stainless steel to save 7.2kg over the standard Vantage’s system.
New alloy wheels are offered in two designs, each measuring in at 21in and wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres: 275/35 at the front and 315/30 to the rear. The wheels hide standard carbon ceramic brakes, with claimed improvements in brake fade and unsprung weight. Those springs have had their rates increased front and rear, while revised anti-roll bars have also been added.
Inside, racy additions include optional carbon fibre performance seats saving 7.3kg, along with bespoke personalisation options to help owners set their car apart. Tinted carbon fibre trim can be had inside and out, along with Alcantara seat inserts and coloured anodised rotary dials.
2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage production began in Q1 of 2022, with deliveries due to start in Q2 2022.
