Following the successful sale of over 50 ‘White Collection’ Porsche cars in December, RM Sotheby’s is back with over 1800 lots of automobilia
Blue-chip auction house RM Sotheby’s has announced a continuation of its White Collection sale, a phenomenon which began last December with the sale of over 50 Porsche cars from a single owner and all finished in white.
The original sale was a roaring success, with a headline sales figure of more than $30m. A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder finished in paint-to-sample Grand Prix White sold for $3,937,500, while a rare 1997 993 GT2 achieved a staggering $2,397,500. Many other lots broke the $1m barrier and the auction’s overall sell-through rate was an impressive 99.82%.
The Last of the White Collection is billed as a continuation of the first sale, this time with a focus on the White Collection’s extensive set of automobilia and parts items. Over 1800 lots are set to go under the hammer, including coveted posters, books, catalogues and race attire.
Other highlights include vintage Porsche-branded luggage, scale models, sculptures, children’s ride-on cars, original Porsche first aid kits, sets of Fuchs wheels, spare engines, headunits, interior parts and original tool kits.
Bidding opened on March 18 but does not start to close until Monday, April 8, so there’s still time to grab a rare Porsche part or piece of memorabilia.
