Aston Martin teases limited edition run-out special dubbed DBS 770 Ultimate; shaper dynamics and more power promised
Aston Martin has offered an early look at the DBS 770 Ultimate, a limited-run run-out version of the DBS Superleggera, in a short video.
Details remain thin on the ground but the British firm has confirmed that power from the car’s twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12 will be increased to 770PS (759bhp) from the standard car’s 725PS (715bhp). Aston says the new car will be ‘re-engineered’ with a ‘sharper dynamic focus’.
A total of 499 examples will be made, with the DBS 770 Ultimate serving as the final iteration of the car before it bows out of production. The car will arrive this year ahead of the Aston Martin Valhalla, a V8 plug-in hybrid supercar that heralds a new chapter in the brand’s lineup.
Pricing is yet to be announced but it’s safe to expect the new car to command a considerable premium over the standard model’s circa-£230,000 price tag.
The current DBS Superleggera was introduced in 2018, replacing the second-generation Aston Martin Vanquish. As a front-engined, V12-powered grand tourer, the model has limited direct competition, with the harder-edged Ferrari 812 Superfast a key rival in terms of performance and mechanical layout.
The new DBS 770 Ultimate will challenge the similarly limited (but sold out) 812 Competitizone – and is set to be the most powerful Aston Martin road car this side of the Valkyrie hypercar.
