Limited-run Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 celebrates the brand’s endurance racing success; production limited to 394 examples
The SVR Edition 1988 is the first F-Pace to be created by SV Bespoke. Designed to celebrate Jaguar’s victory at the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours, just 394 examples are available worldwide – the number of laps the winning Jaguar XJR-9 LM completed to take the brand’s first win of the famed race since 1957. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is available to order now, priced from £101,550.
The Edition 1988’s unique specification includes specially formulated Midnight Amethyst gloss paintwork, Champagne Gold Satin 22-inch alloy wheels, Sunset Gold Satin exterior and interior detailing, plus a ‘One of 394’ graphic. The car also has a Sunset Gold Satin Jaguar leaper and script on the tailgate while a laser-etched Edition 1988 logo is applied to each front wing panel. In addition to the F-Pace SVR Black Pack components fitted as standard on the Edition 1988, gloss-black finishes are extended to the door mirror caps, brake calipers, wheel centre caps and the letter R on the SVR badging.
Inside, the F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 features semi-aniline ebony leather upholstery and exclusive Sunset Gold Satin detailing across the dashboard, steering wheel spokes, gearshift paddles and the heated-and-cooled front performance seats. The Jaguar leaper and horn ring on the steering wheel receive a satin-black finish, while subtle SV Bespoke and Edition 1988 branding on the illuminated treadplates and dashboard, completes the package. The car also incorporates a panoramic sliding sunroof.
As per the latest standard F-Pace, the Edition 1988 gets Jaguar’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, which now incorporates what3words2 as part of its sat-nav system – a service that uses unique strings of words to map out three-metre-square locations. Jaguar gives the example of ‘snug.times.tests’ – the unique string that corresponds with the Jaguar Heritage Trust where the Le Mans-winning XJR-9 is stored. Other technological touches include Amazon Alexa integration, a head-up display and wireless phone charging.
There are no changes on the mechanical front but that’s no bad thing: the limited-run model retains the standard F-Pace SVR’s 550hp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine. Performance remains the same too, with 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds and a 178mph top speed.
“Since its introduction in 2019, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR has established itself as a highly characterful and rewarding high-performance car,” said Mark Turner, commercial director of Jaguar’s SVO department. “Pairing these qualities with a level of SV Bespoke personalisation and exclusivity never offered before on F-Pace makes Edition 1988 an even more captivating proposition. With strictly limited availability, we’re confident this will quickly become the most sought-after F-Pace SVR yet.”
