The Porsche 911 S/T marks 60 years of 911, combining the best bits of GT3 Touring and GT3 RS to create the ultimate road-going 911

This is the Porsche 911 S/T, a limited-run 60th anniversary model that essentially brings the GT3 RS engine to the fan-favourite 911 GT3 with Touring Package – complete with manual transmission. In a nod to the birth year of the 911, the model is limited to 1963 examples; prices start at £291,610 in the UK.

The 911 S/T takes its name from the race-prepared 911 S of 1969, known internally as the 911 ST – a car with improved performance that predated the aerodynamic aids of later track-going 911s.

Carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic features heavily throughout the 911 S/T’s construction, with the material used for the bonnet, roof, doors, roll-cage, rear anti-roll bar and shear panel. Other lightweight touches include a lithium-ion battery, lightweight glass and reduced sound insulation.

Porsche claims that the 911 S/T is the lightest of all 992-generation cars, weighing in at 1,380kg with all fluids, which when combined with 517bhp, 456Nm of torque and a shorter-ratio gearbox makes for impressive performance figures: 0-62mph takes 3.7 seconds and top speed is 186mph.

As should be expected given its GT3 lineage, the 911 S/T promises to perform in the corners too: 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium wheels wear 255/35 and 315/30 tyres respectively, while the road-biased suspension set-up combines double wishbones in the front and a multi-link rear. This combination is included without the addition of rear-wheel steering for the first time in a 992 911. PCCB ceramic brakes are also included as standard.

Buyers can pick from a vintage-inspired Heritage Design Package, which combines Shoreblue Metallic bodywork with Ceramica wheel paint; an optional race number and Porsche lettering can also be added. A classic-style Porsche crest replaces the modern iteration on the nose, wheels, steering wheel, headrests and key, while inside a combination of black and Classic Cognac leather, pinstripe seat cloth and other touches help add to the retro-inspired feel.

Customers of the 911 S/T will also be offered the chance to buy a limited-edition Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T, a version of the brand’s famous chronograph featuring a blasted, uncoated titanium case, COSC-certified automatic movement and a display-back revealing a rotor designed to match the 911 S/T’s magnesium wheels.
