Electric conversion specialist Everrati has presented its latest creation – a pure-electric Porsche 964 Cabriolet
EV conversion specialist Everrati has taken the wraps off what it says is the world’s first-ever electric widebody Porsche 964 Cabriolet. The new car has been developed and engineered at Everrati’s facility near Bicester, Oxfordshire. It joins the brand’s electrified Coupe and Targa offerings based on the same generation of 911, as well as electric versions of the Land Rover Series IIA, Superformance GT40 and Mercedes ‘Pagoda’ SL.
Gone is the standard 964’s air-cooled flat-six, replaced by an electric powertrain with either 440bhp or 500bhp – with the latter enough for a claimed 0–60mph time of under four seconds. A range of 200 miles is quoted from its 62kWh battery, although no charging details have been specified.
Everrati claims that it has developed the new car to “preserve the original ‘feel’ and character of the Porsche 911”, citing weight distribution and chassis response as being optimised. The 964 Cabriolet is offered with the option of fully adjustable suspension as part of the brand’s aim to also optimise the performance of the standard car.
Those standard 964 examples are selected by Everrati for ‘provenance and condition’, with both body and chassis used in the conversion. All modifications are completely reversible – a core philosophy of the brand – meaning owners can switch their cars back to original specification at a later date.
“Everrati prides itself on enhancing the original ‘feel’ and character of iconic cars, and the pure open-top driving experience of the 964 Cabriolet, now combined with state-of-the-art EV power, means our customers can enjoy convertible thrills in truly sustainable, 21-century style,” said Everrati founder and CEO Justin Lunny.
“At present, the options open to buyers in the convertible EV market are extremely scarce, and we are proud to have created a cutting-edge convertible EV above and beyond what mainstream manufacturers are delivering.”
The Everrati 964 Cabriolet will be made on both sides of the Atlantic, both by Everrati itself in the UK and new partner Aria in Irvine, California.
Everrati is taking orders now, although pricing has not been publicly announced for the Cabriolet specifically. Prices for all 964 models start from £270,000, plus taxes and a donor vehicle.
